Updating Your Wardrobe Without Harming the Planet

Mosman Clothes Swap

Every time we buy new clothing, we pose a serious threat to the ongoing climate crisis and to the environment. Many Australians are also confused about disposing of their unwanted clothes, with a large-scale Australian study finding a third of us throw them in the bin. Our aim is to provide a more considered and educated option whilst giving you the chance to update your wardrobe.

Items must be clean, pressed, and free from damage. Only bring pieces you’d proudly gift a friend, ideally on a hanger. This way, you can refresh your wardrobe while making an eco-friendly choice.

Chain store garments in single (cotton, wool, silk, linen, bamboo, rayon, viscose, lyocell and modal) or blended natural fibres will be considered. All styles will be accepted, so keep in mind that items will range from on-trend pieces to older classics. We therefore can’t guarantee everyone who brings a designer item will take home an equivalent piece.

*Proceeds and surplus clothing will be donated to The Resilience Circle and Lou’s Place - both provide trauma informed and person-centred care to women facing issues such as domestic violence and homelessness.
